I came across this on Tumblr this morning and found it extremely moving, emotive and powerful.
Grace Brown started this photography project in October (2011? 2010? - I'm not sure) called Project Unbreakable, it's a variety of pictures of people - men and women, who are the survivors of sexual abuse. The pictures contain quotes from the person's abuser - what was said to them to keep them in fear, justify the abuser's actions of comments from parents who then found out.
Grace has received a massive response from people wishing to be photographed or submitting their own pictures via Tumblr.
Sexual assault and any form of abuse is something we should try to eradicate from all areas of our society - whether it's against women, men or children. It doesn't matter. I think this project is a massive step to making us all see how wide spread an issue it really is.
